Where is LF & Associates located?
Our office is in Brookline, MA. However, we offer virtual services to anyone in MA. For clients outside of MA, several of our psychologists are licensed to hold telehealth sessions throughout the US, depending upon your location. (See ‘Meet the Team’ for location specifications per psychologist.)
How do I get started?
The first step toward working with us is reaching out! You are welcome to send us an email through the contact page or call us at 781-648-4972. A member of our team will be in touch shortly to schedule a brief 15–25-minute free consultation call so we can learn a bit more about your concerns and goals, and evaluate how well we fit. As a team of psychologists with unique specialties, we take care to ensure you are matched with a therapist who is highly skilled in the areas most relevant to your well-being. Then we will connect you with your therapist and you’ll get started.
How does virtual therapy work?
We use HIPAA-compliant versions of zoom and doxy to hold secure telehealth sessions.
What is a clinical Psychologist? How do they differ from other therapists?
Clinical psychologists undergo extensive specialized training in evaluating and addressing mental health and psychological concerns. Clinical psychologists have completed a doctoral education, which involves thousands of hours of rigorous training. Psychologists are mandated to pursue continuing education to sustain their licenses, and they adhere to the most rigorous ethical standards.
What is the cancellation policy?
We ask that you cancel sessions with at least 24-hours’ notice. Sessions cancelled with less than 24-hour notice are billed in full, as we have held the spot for you in our schedule.
Do you take insurance?
No, we are out-of-network providers. We do not participate with insurance panels, so you’ll be responsible for the cost of your care, though we’ll gladly provide you with a receipt you can use for insurance/HSA submission if you have those benefits. We suggest contacting your insurance provider and asking about “Out of Network Behavioral Health Outpatient Coverage.”
What does therapy cost?
Our therapy sessions range in cost as follows:
$100- $200 - group therapy, depending on session length
$125-$200 for 20 to 30-minute sessions
$250-$450 for 45-minute sessions for individuals and families.
Our session rates vary according to the length of your session, the experience/licensure status of your provider, and whether you’re coming to us for individual, family/couples, or group care.
How does payment work?
We use a secure online portal for payment with credit, debit, or HSA card and other office paperwork. You may also pay by check at the time of service.
Who do you work with?
We see people ages 12 through adult in individual, family, and group meetings, and for psycho-diagnostic assessments when there’s a need to clarify diagnoses and recommend a course of treatment.
How do I choose what kind of care I want?
Our team works collaboratively, using a flexible care model that reflects our various areas of strength and expertise. So, you may choose to do a focused piece of therapy with one of our team members, skills coaching or group meetings with another, and couples/family therapy with another over time. After you create an initial plan for care, you’ll have an opportunity to review and update it at regular intervals.
Many of our clients use therapy as part of an integrative approach to health that also may include: yoga or meditation, prayer or faith-based work, medication overseen by a psychiatrist, fitness and nutrition plans, and family or couples work as part of their therapeutic journey.
