Dr. Laura Ferrer
Having completed my training at Harvard Medical School/McLean Hospital approximately 25 years ago, I have since served as a Clinical Psychologist and coach in the greater Boston area, and an adjunct faculty member at McLean/Harvard Medical School I enjoy working with individuals and groups via telehealth and at our office in Brookline, whether through private sessions or in larger workshops and conferences. I also have a passion for supervising and mentoring developing professionals, having held roles as a supervisor and intern support group facilitator at McLean/Harvard Medical School for many years. It has been a particular joy to invite colleagues into my practice over the past 5 years, where we work closely together to provide thoughtful, competent care in a supportive team environment.
My training encompassed a range of evidence-based Cognitive and Behavioral Treatments (CBT, DBT, ACT), Mindfulness, and other theories. I work with challenges related to anxiety, mood disorders, eating disorders, and personality disorders, and I have a specialized focus on treating Obsessive Compulsive Disorders (OCD).
I believe that good therapy is based in good relationships, and a cornerstone of my work involves close collaboration with my clients as we address their goals and personal development. My goal is to help my clients live authentically, grounded in their strengths and values, as they cultivate resilience. I apply these same principles in my own life.
