Lauren Rutter, PhD

 

Dr. Lauren Rutter is a clinical psychologist specializing in evidence-based assessment and treatment of anxiety, depression, and related disorders. Lauren works with individuals to effectively navigate stressors including professional challenges, difficulties in relationships, perfectionism, and life transitions. Her therapeutic approach is based in research-supported care, using primarily cognitive-behavioral therapies, with additional attention to acceptance-based strategies.

Her aim is to create an open and compassionate environment to facilitate change. She is committed to providing lifelong skills that can help her clients achieve their goals, face challenges, and live a values-driven life.

Dr. Rutter completed her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders (CARD) at Boston University, and her clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School. In these settings, she trained with international experts in treatment of anxiety, depression, and related disorders, and developed a robust skillset in assessment, diagnosis, consultation, and treatment.

Outside of private practice, Dr. Rutter is a research scientist at Indiana University (Bloomington, IN) where she uses digital tools to understand the causes and maintaining factors of anxiety and mood disorders across the lifespan. Lauren provides remote telehealth assessment and therapy to adults in Massachusetts and remote or live meetings to clients in Indiana.
